Iris Ophelia on New World Notes asked “Who Are the Hottest Male Avatars in Second Life“.  Usually this is a topic that revoles around the women in Second Life; contents, pageant, and calendars featuring the “hottest” women of Second Life are all too frequent in Second Life.  It’s nice to see the men get a fair shake in the action.  There seems to have been some 100 entries and the first round to determine whom the top 10 are is underway.  My recommendation is to vote often for your favorite male avatars.

We at apex-high studio. have just launched a $L 10k ASpiRE! Radio Contest in honor of their launch. The contest is pretty cool, 3 winners will get to have their audio creativity placed as a part of ASpiRE! Radio (which has just launched over the weekend) on all shows and playlists and there’s money involved. All you have to do is create a 10 – 15 Second station ID/advertisement for ASpiRE! Radio and it will be played throughout the day, during shows, and with your name in the station ID line (click here for an example). Use your own creativity and the first prize winner can win $L 5k, second place $L 3k, and last place $L 2k. You will also be a permanent fixture of ASpiRE! Radio as your work will be a part of the permanent fixture of all programming.

Some time ago I was made aware of The Best of Second Life Live a competition for Live Musicians in Second Life to compete in several genre categories to see who was The Best! This looks to be a very interesting and great competition to foster the Second Life musician community and to really see new talent. To enter you need to join the “Best of SL LIVE” group (L$ 100 entry) and quickly, today is the last day for entry for auditions! The prize for the competition is L$ 50,000! The competition begins on Janurary 5th, 2008 as the contests will be performing in front of judges on a weekly basis.

I’m really keen on seeing who will crop out of this group of contestants, which talent shines and how diverse the musician community in Second Life is. Good luck to all who participate in the competition!

A good friend In Kenzo sent me information (and a pretty nifty object) about a cool new challenge called the “Ridebuilders Challenge.” This Toyshoppe/AMO Design Challenge in partnership with Car Lovers Community is awarding winnters a shared pot of $L 50k for submitting your best vhehicle. The prize breakdown are:

• 1st Prize: L$25000, Ridebuilders Cup, Vehicle featured in the Car Lovers community rides and Ridebuilders Winners Circle
• 2nd Prize: L$10000 and vehicle featured in the Ridebuilders Winners Circle
• 3rd Prize: L$5000 and vehicle featured in Ridebuilders Winners Circle
